Meet Michael K. Grife
Michael K. Grife is the founder of The Grife Law Firm, representing personal injury and medical malpractice clients across Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, and South Florida. A Brooklyn native who brings both street smarts and legal acumen to every case, he has recovered more than $100 million for injured clients during his career. His firm handles car accidents, truck crashes, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases with the philosophy that every client deserves direct access to their attorney and transparent communication throughout the legal process.
Michael Grife established The Grife Law Firm in 2014 after dedicating his career to personal injury and medical malpractice representation. Growing up in Brooklyn gave him two educations—one in school and one on the streets—which helps him relate to clients from all walks of life. His practice handles car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian collisions, premises liability, slip and fall, cruise ship cases, product liability, and wrongful death claims. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers for over a decade, named to Best Lawyers in America for personal injury and medical malpractice, is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell (the highest rating possible), and is a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Grife also serves on the Palm Beach County Bar Association's Civil Practice Committee, where he meets regularly with judges to improve court procedures and expedite civil cases.
What Inspired Michael?
Grife's path to law wasn't typical. While in college, he was torn between film directing and sports journalism, having a keen understanding of cinema and storytelling. His stepfather, who was like a father to him, looked at his lifestyle preferences and said, "Hey, listen, you like nice clothes, nice cars, nice houses. You should go be a lawyer." That practical advice led him to law school, where he discovered an immediate and natural aptitude for legal work. From his first reading assignment, he took to law "like a fish to water," understanding cases and legal concepts on an innate level. The storytelling skills he developed through his interest in film have proven invaluable in trial work, helping him engage juries by effectively telling his clients' stories.
Mission & Vision
The mission behind The Grife Law Firm is to provide excellence in legal representation while treating clients with the utmost care and concern, pursuing the best results with the biggest financial compensation possible. Grife believes in the golden rule—treating people how you want to be treated—and puts himself in his clients' shoes to deliver the level of service he would expect if he needed a lawyer. The firm exists to give everyday people a platform to seek justice when they've been seriously injured, leveling the playing field against insurance companies, hospitals, and doctors with unlimited resources. Through contingency fee representation, the firm becomes true partners with clients, taking all the financial risk and only getting paid when they win.
Career History
Michael Grife earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale after completing his undergraduate degree in print journalism at Hofstra University on Long Island. He has been admitted to the Florida Bar since 2005 and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. After graduation, he was hired by a prominent personal injury attorney in Delray Beach who became his mentor, then became a partner at Glick and Grife for five years before founding The Grife Law Firm in 2014. His transition from considering careers in film directing and sports journalism to law happened after his stepfather advised him that if he liked "nice clothes, nice cars, nice houses," he should become a lawyer—advice that led to discovering his natural aptitude for legal work.
